There are some things you should always be weary of, because you never want to deal with them. One of them is your drain being clogged. When a drain is backed up it can cause a person a lot of problems. There are some things that a person can do to unclog their drain. Here is some advice on how to deal with that so that you can avoid a future house cleaning job that could follow from not taking care of your drains.

To unblock a drain a person can make an all natural drain cleaner. All they need to do is pour 1 cup of baking soda down the drain. This baking soda is followed by 2 cups of boiling water. After a couple of minutes another cup of baking soda is poured down the drain. This is then followed by 1 cup of white vinegar. At this point the mixture should start to foam. After the mixture foams for a little an additional 2 cups of boiling water is poured down the drain to flush any remaining debris out. This type of cleaner can also be used every month as maintenance to make sure that there is no chance of the drain getting blocked.

Anther method to unclog a drain is to use a plunger. Fill the sink up with a couple of inches of water. Using the plunger make sure that it sealed around the drain. Push the plunger up and down. After doing this a few times wait a couple of seconds and repeat. This should remove any debris from the drain. Make sure you have some cleaning products around, because the backlash could be a reason to do some home cleaning.

If the drain is not coming unclogged a person may have to purchase a tool known as a snake. The snake is a long, thin tool that can go into the drain and remove any obstructions. The snake should be lowered into the drain until a person feels the obstruction. At this time continue to push the snake until it pushes through the blockage. Turn the snake counterclockwise and remove it from the drain. It may be dirty so be prepared for this. This should be repeated until the snake is able to move down the drain without a problem. Using this tool might also bring about some need for kitchen or carpet cleaning, so be prepared for the outcomes.

These are just some easy ways to unclog a drain. These methods will allow a person to clean their drain without having to call a plumber. And do keep a rag and mop around – floor cleaning is often something that follows such unclogging.
